MONSPACE has always been a strong supporter of local arts and culture. The film industry is a big chunk of that, so it is an honour to play a part in promoting it, while interacting with all the heavyweights of the local scene.
At the event, founder and CEO of MONSPACE, Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai also introduced the PIFFA 2017 Awards Ceremony, which will be held on 4-6 November.
Lai was also awarded by the Malaysia Cultural Department for the contribution of MONSPACE towards the local film-making scene
“I am confident that the future is bright for us. Malaysia is so rich in culture — our Mandarin films cater to China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Malay films would do well in the Indonesian market, while Tamil films will find a strong fan base in India. All we need now is more resources—and that compels me to do my part!” said Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai, CEO of Monspace Multinational Corp.
It is my honour to receive this award. It also strengthens my conviction to do more for the local film industry. We have some of the greatest talents in the region, and I hope to assist PROFIMA in creating a conducive platform for local films to flourish. One day, I hope to see Malaysia become a hub for making the best films and movies in the region, as we continue to set our eyes on the global stage.
