3 Jan, 2018 – One of the year’s most anticipated the world’s longest Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge project with 55-kilometre length officially held its lighting ceremony and became one of the landmarks within the area. SANSI, as a major LED products supplier for the project, is excited to have witnessed its lighting project completion as one of The Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge project is a complex sea-crossing project, which consists of a series of three cable-stayed bridges and one undersea tunnel spanning the Lingdingyang channel, that connects Hong Kong with Macau and Zhuhai within an hour’s commute of each other. The study points out that the Hong Kong (Lantau)-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge proposed by the HKSAR Government, a link connecting the three places under “one country, two systems”, is the most urgent one and bears significant political and economic implications. As a leading manufacturer of LED applications, SANSI has been selected to manufacture and supply the whole line LED products for the single construction, including LED street lights, a series of color-changing architectural LED landscape lights features that will run vertically along the bridge, and LED variable message signs equipped with own-developed intelligent control systems for the entire length of the bridge. In total, the project will contain more than 28,000 ceramic LED lights, which features:
• PCB Free LED chips are placed directly onto the ceramic body, omitting the need for both PC boards and thermally conductive adhesives.
• Faster Cooling Structural design of air convection, honeycomb and proximal cooling.
• High Security Hollow-out structure, effectively reducing wind resistance, making luminaries safer and more reliable.
• Convenient Maintenance Modular design, no wire connection between module group and housing, easy assembly and maintenance.
• Secondary Regulation Energy-economizing Intelligent dimming system, allowing further energy conservation.
SANSI LED products will further expand the technical advantages to various new technologies and material which ensures the reliable operating condition of traffic information distribution and traffic guidance for the full 50km bridge.
Although the 50km long bridge brings challenges to LED technologies that we are confronted with environmental hazards including salt fog corrosion, vibrations, significant temperature drops, and severe weather including typhoons, SANSI has overcame the harsh construction environment by employing intelligent control systems, reflection-illumination technology and cellular convection cooling technology that has gained national level LED standards.
With over 25 years of extensive experience, SANSI owns approximately 230,000㎡of manufacturing space consisting of three factories, two System Integration Labs and one New-Tech Institute with with over 400 R&D engineers and 13 research institutes. In short, we have industry involvement to be able to fulfill your project needs. Notably, SANSI LED tunnel light occupied 70% market share while LED subway light occupied 50% market share in China. Even more remarkably, over 60% of VMS are currently utilized in highway construction. From large scale outdoor advertising to channel letters to tollways, SANSI exported its products to more than 30 countries across United States, Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia and so on, making its most large display network worldwide.
Application of SANSI lighting in Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, does not simply mean the end of traditional lighting. In a broader sense, LED street lights presents a concept that the only right way of development is to balance the economic outcome with social and environmental effects. The comprehensive application of LED products and intelligent control systems help demonstrate that SANSI’s LED technologies are fully capable and adaptable to lighting projects and become another standard for the lighting industry. The project now is due to be completed in December 2017 and open to vehicular traffic in 2018.
